WorkCover will pay costs for reasonable services delivered to workers compensation claimants by recognised and accredited health providers.
Recognition
To be recognised as a health provider within the workers compensation environment you must be registered with a relevant board, and /or contracted specifically by WorkCover SA.
Recognised providers include:
- legally qualified medical practitioners
- specialists in a surgical discipline
- consultant physicians
- consultant psychiatrists
- registered dentists
- registered psychologists
- registered opticians
- registered osteopaths
- registered physiotherapists
- registered chiropractors
- registered podiatrists
- registered occupational therapists
- registered speech pathologists
- accredited physical rehabilitation (gymnasium) service providers
- contracted rehabilitation service providers
- accredited remedial therapists.
In addition some treatments and services that are appropriate to the workers compensation environment must be delivered by recognised providers.

Acupuncture
Acupuncture treatment can only be provided by a legally qualified medical practitioner or other medical experts such as physiotherapists, chiropractors and occupational therapists. Treatment must be given by needle method only. To assist you, a number of qualified providers have agreed to be listed so that you may locate them more easily.
Driver assessment and driver rehabilitation
Driver assessment and driver rehabilitation services can only be delivered by a WorkCover accredited driver assessment and driver rehabilitation provider from an accredited facility. To assist you an alphabetical by suburb listing is provided.

Massage/Remedial therapy
Massage therapy treatments can only be delivered by a WorkCover approved remedial therapist. For assessment of eligibility, please complete forms below, then contact Reeva Brice – Workplace Assessment Registrar on (08) 8337 4128 or 0412 866 096, on Tuesday’s 1.30pm – 5.30pm or Thursday’s 10.30am – 5.30pm.

Physical rehabilitation (gymnasium) and aquatic therapy services
Physical rehabilitation services can only be delivered by an accredited physical rehabilitation (gymnasium) service provider from an accredited gymnasium facility.
Aquatic therapy (hydrotherapy) services can only be delivered by a medical expert as described at the top of this page. Any pool that is approved by the relevant South Australian local Government council for public use can be used for the delivery of aquatic therapy services. Some of these have elected to be on a register that we have included in the listing provided below.
